Well it’s hard to believe My Loving Oven is one year old today! Thank you WordPress for the reminder email😉. I really can’t believe a year has gone by. One year ago today, I opened a WordPress account not knowing a thing about blogging. What I did know is that I loved food and I loved cooking. So, ” how hard can it be anyway?” I said. Well, little did I know. Actually, I had no idea how hard it was going to be, or how much time and effort it would take to put a recipe online, let alone building an engaging website.
A Roller Coaster Ride!
This is really the only way to describe my first year as a blogger. Yes, many ups and downs along the way. Technical frustrations, writers block, you name it, so many different emotions felt along the way. Posts that I thought for sure would be a hit are just barely getting read, whereas others have unexpectedly drawn the most attention. I still don’t understand what it is that people want to see and read about really. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you just don’t.
Let’s talk a little about luck. I am very lucky. I have a great supportive family who has encouraged me every step of the way. My husband might say I am a bit obsessed! Ok, I admit that I am, especially when it comes to solving those ever-present technical issues. Hours and hours spent with WordPress support personnel, who are always cheerful and giving their best on a daily basis. I especially love it when those gurus create a little code snippets for me to install on my website and “VOILA!”, a little widget appears. Ok, back to being lucky… today I hired my first employee! Yes, that’s right, my husband editor and fixer of things I don’t have time for. Um, does it matter if he isn’t getting paid? Anyway, that’s irrelevant. He is now learning all about WordPress! I can’t wait to tell him that he is also going to be my analytics person! My husband is the technical expert in our house, all things computer, electronic, cell-phone related, he is the man! Did I mention he was an airline pilot? He definitely has the edge when it comes to dealing with details!
Well, on we go with this journey!
P.S. sorry this wasn’t some amazing one year anniversary cake recipe, I was too busy today with employee orientation!
Here is a little video recap of the year!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Yay! So proud of you! My kick butt big “little” sister! 🥰😘
